Located in Pelzer, SC, Happy Cow Creamery is a unique, on-the-farm milk bottling operation offering high quality, fresh milk directly from its own dairy cows. They prioritize cow "happiness" through non-confinement, easy rotation through pastures, grass-feeding, natural shade and water in all pastures, and no antibiotics or hormones. Their priority is the cows health over its production. Through their sustainability practices, they won the National 2002 Patrick Madden Award for the Sustainable Farmer of the Year.
