As a ministry extension of Thornwell, LushAcres Farm's mission is to produce healthy, life-giving food, foster community connection, and be a catalyst for children and families to thrive. Located on 340 acres of Thornwell’s residential campus in Clinton, South Carolina, LushAcres Farm is a vibrant extension of Thornwell’s ministry dedicated to providing healthy, farm-fresh goods, family and classroom-friendly events and activities and access to health-focused resources, including our free walking trail and playground. Plus, when you visit and shop at LushAcres Farm, you directly support Thornwell programs serving children and families. LushAcres Farm staff, brings strong experience in agriculture, livestock, and agritourism, which compliments the farm’s strategic approach to diversify operations into livestock, specialty crops, and agritourism. Regenerative agriculture helps us to improve the land by adding minerals and nutrients back into the soil. Cleanup activities have helped to reclaim the land into pastureland and prepare land for our specialty crops. Two wells were installed and are used for irrigation. Ponds have also been reclaimed by cleaning the boundaries to encourage more aquatic life development. In short, implementing these sustainable farming practices now has laid the groundwork for the next 50+ years.
